UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2025

June 18 – 22, 2025

Welcome, Unitarian Universalists!

No matter where you’re joining from during this year’s General Assembly, we’re excited to be in community with you and to share resources, stories, and inspiration about how UUs across the country are deepening their commitment to immigrant justice work.

Meeting the Moment

UURISE has been working in service of immigrants and refugees, and has been helping UU congregations and small group ministries deepen and broaden their work on immigrant justice since 2007. We believe that Unitarian Universalists called to immigrant justice—work rooted in relationships and guided by those directly impacted—are most effective when they approach the work with curiosity, humility, and a willingness to do what the impacted community is asking for.

Folks who do not have personal and direct experience with the U.S. Immigration system, are in a position to leverage their privilege and show up for and with their community. Leveraging privilege and showing up is extremely powerful when people ask questions, listen, and follow the lead of those directly impacted and those already doing the work.

In order to meet the moment, we invite you to reflect on questions that guide us toward meaningful justice work:

  • What work is calling to me most deeply?
  • Who is already doing that work in my community?
  • Where is my support needed and does that feel like a good fit for me right now?
  • Where can I get support to do this work through the lens of my UU faith?

Let’s meet the moment together!
